Project2nd is a webcomic inspired by old Japanese tales with a touch of Western culture. The story takes place in a world in conflict due to a consortium controlling the economy and the magical items useful for the everyday life. In the past, this consortium settled the world to an apparent stability and officially abolished slavery. The previously enslaved faerun remain a workforce for the humans and are still treated poorly. This consortium tends to suppress any of the remaining old world into a unification to their new culture. But the stability of the consortium has been shaken because of the escape of a girl and her secret .Follow the path of our heros, between the world and through time.
Inspired by many Japaneses tales and kabukis like Ume no Haru Gojūsantsug, Kaii Hyakumonogatari, Kaguya-hime, Kumagai no Jirō Naozane. Our story uses Kemono characters which is the Japanese translation for anthropomorphic creatures usually referred as yokai in theses tales.
Humans are your standard primate-based, bipedal, sentient animals. They are technologically superior to the other two races, due to their high intelligence and natural curiosity. At least that’s what they think.
Canine and feline based, they’re bipedal, sentient anthropomorphic creatures. They have a variety of shapes and sizes, which include Tigers, any kinds of other Large Cats, common types of Dogs, Wolves and Foxes. Their culture has elements of Asian cultures. They have been used by the humans as slaves for centuries. Even though they’re physically superior to the humans, they’re extremely sensitive to magic, giving humans an opportunity to enslave and use the faeran.
The Daerans or Daeris are a community of mixed breeds living in a secluded island in the southern part of the territory, known to be the only remaining race to be out of the consortium’s influence. They are known for their production of fine clothing and jewelry, and their rather neutral politcal stance. They’re well organized and have a more Western culture than the Faerans.
A myth. They have been forgotten long ago, lost in the Labyrinth of time. Only part of an ancient dragon cult remains in some parts of the world.
